Obd2 was designed for one thing and one thing only...emissions. That's why we convert down to obd1...for one you can still chip obd1, and 2...this is hmt...who gives a rats *** about emissions.

Eagle h-beams or similar are going to be your number 1 choice for rods. Shot-peened or not, stock d-series rods just can't handle 300hp.

Seriously though convert ot obd1 and get forged rods/pistons.
