If used on a 0.48 a/r turbine, spool up is not significantly slower.
However, you do enter the sweet spot of that compressor wheel later in the powerband, since it starts to be efficient only by 175 HP. On drivability, this turbo will hit your desired boost early, but power will kick in all of a sudden at around 175-200 HP.

I would say that for power levels under 250HP, this V trim wheel is not worth it. The t3 60 will achieve 250HP just as easily and with more low end.
However, If your car already has 150+ HP before boost. That V trim T3 on a 0.63 turbine will definitely kick ***.

I don'T want to see that stuff considered as publicity.

Of course, I build turbos for my living so if interrested about any of this, just email me.
Of course, we sell t3 60, super 60 and that V trim T3 and we can also modify yours. No pricing will be posted here though.

I will vouch for BlaastPerformance, I just picked up my t3/t04b v trim for my z6 and will let you guys know how I like it. They have been more than helpful in answering all my questions and uncertainties.

No, it's not on the website. Yet.
It's extensive custom work and takes more time to build than regular turbos. If I get 3-4 orders at a time, it's gonna jeopardize the rest of the business and I am no longer gonna be able to respect my usual turn around times.

Of course, I could order the real parts directly from turbonetics to do the super 60 or other fancy hybrids but the price couldn't be that good. To achieve this economically, I have to machine some factory remanufactured parts myself. The results though, you can be asured, is just as good, if not better.

I dont mean to "blast" a hole in the idea, but its almost as expensive to just buy a T3/T4 than buying a used turbo and doing the v-trim. Just my two cents.

And you are perfectly right.
The t3/t4 V trim happens to have a 0.60 a/r as well.
I'm not sure of the difference in performances of the T3 V trim and the t04B V trim. Certainly, it is minor or furthermore, my guess, unsignificant.
But obviously, the prefix "SUPER" in a turbo's nomenclature seems to make a it much more attractive to many customers. In turns, it becomes very attractive as well for me to offer it.

Blaast,

What do you think about the T04B V-trim comp wheel on an Audi 1.8t 20-valve engine? Should I use a .63 or .48 turbine housing?

TIA,
Fulcrum

the 1.8L without boost doesn't have a lot of power to spool up a turbine.

You should stick with the 0.48 T3 turbine. It is, anyways, already much larger than the stock one .

Compressor wise, depends what HP you are looking for. To keep the low end strong, maybe you should look into the t3 60 trim, super 60 or... the T04B S trim that is very good from 150 to 250HP.

My call: the t3/t04B S trim, 0.48/0.60 ar, watercooled is a great choice; decent high RPM gains at stock boost levels, the possiblity to boost much more and minor compromises on spoolup...
We have it on the shelves, ready to go.

Is the T3/T04B S capable of flowing enough for 300 hp? I actually more worried about midrange torque. The car is an Audi A4 Avant(wagon) Quattro. I'm obviously gonnna be running a 3" exhaust and front mount IC. Big mid range power seems a better choice since 1.8t aren't very rev happy(under-square and heavy valvetrain). How much would it cost to get a T3 60/63 modded to T3/T04B-S specs? Just PM me the prices since you said you didnt want to post pricing in this thread.

TIA,
Fulcrum

PS sorry to the OP for hijackin your thread.

PPS IIRC turbo Fords(Merkur, T-Bird, Stangs) came with T3 60/63's in manual tranny cars and T3 60/48's in auto tranny's. i hope that helps.
