The turbo you have is a Garrett T3, The M10 is the casting number on the air housing and Aireserch is a division of Garrett industries(before they sold out to allied signal). This is a good turbo , but difficult to work with because of the strange exhaust housing shape, and the fact that it is backwards from every other T3 turbo. I dont know what A/R stands for but it is Garretts way of rating turbo size, the larger the number the biger the turbo and the larger the motor it is used on. .48A/R exhaust .42A/R air turbos are the most common 4 cylinder turbos, they were used on all of the turbo imports(SAAB,Volvo, ect.)and are good for motor sizes from 1.5 L up to 2.5 L and 5 to 30 PSI of boost.
