Re:88 CRX HF Race Car
Bah.. DOHC is overrated.. Think of the humiliation of defeating a "Hoss" V8 Vette or Mustang driven by some preppy over-paid suit that thinks he knows about cars with a SOHC!! "WHOA?! You running a B18 with NOS?!?" "Uhm, no, I'm running a 13 year old single cam with a little 'intake/header/exhaust'"

Re:88 CRX HF Race Car
Hello,
I purchased a few items today: 1994 b181 block and crank w/ Darton sleeves from a local guy for $400, ordered Eaglef forged H -Beam from Race Engineering for $369, and picked up a set of Arias forged 9:1 pistons for $150 from a buddy. This leaves me with a few questions:
1) What cylinder head do you recomend for this setup? I have a chance to buy a 98 USDm b18c5 head complete for $300 or a complete b16a2 head for $175.
2) Where can i purchase gaskets and bearing for a good price?
Thanks, Ben

Re:88 CRX HF Race Car
i would go with a b18a/b fully built and i mean fully sleaves rods pistons crank everything. if it's only a drag car don't spend money on a lsd just weld yours. fully built head. some type of stand alone fuel management. and boost it like 35psi.

Re:88 CRX HF Race Car
Hello,
Does anybody on this board have tuning experinence with the AEM standalon engine management system? I was looking at different systems and this seemed the most feauture ladden as well as user firendly. (Plus i found one "race" unit w/ GM 3bar MAP sensor and custom harness for sale for $1000 with only 30 passes on it)
thanks,
Ben
