90zccrx the turbo is too small then. the air inside the compressor housing gets too hot and looses oxygen when the rpms' spool it up way fast. i have a .63 trim t3 in my 99'civic si & it pulls past redline. i almost installed a t25 on the b16. i already had the tubo. people here advised me the turbo was gonna be too small and i sold it & got the t3. i heard the t25 pulls til red line on d15s though.

I look at it this way. a stock 1g DSM makes roughly 190hp, its a 2.0L DOHC, and it has charge pipes that are like 1.5". It reaches full spool at like 2000-2500 rpm.

there is such a thing as overkill, just like people who put a 30x10x3 intercooler & 2.5" charge piping on their 1.6 or something and boost 5psi. I say use what works. This is really unrelated, but my setup is a 1.6L mini-me, comp 59300 cam, 14B @10psi, and i have a "tiny" intercooler at only 12x9x2. everybody on the street tells me how "cute" it is and all that bullshit, but even after ripping the hell out of the car, one side is hot, one side is cold. that tells me its working.

back on topic..

Personally, i think 2.25 charge piping is great for most cars, that goes without saying that if you are shooting for 400hp or something liek that, you might want to go a little bigger

i just got my zc turboed with a 14b and have 2.5" ch pipes and it'll hit full boost at 3500. i got a better deal on the 2.5" pipes and couplers so that was the deciding factor......hmt style

i used 1.25" piping to the intercooler and 2.25" piping coming out of the intercooler. td04 at 7psi. boost lag was almost non-noticeable (not boost threshold). full boost was very strong as well. there's no need to go too big with charge pipes.
