Default ****Turboing a 04' Sentra Se-R Spec-V... NISSAN GUY'S POST UP!!****

like the title mentions I'm in the proccess of turboing a buddy's ser-spec-V. Not much boost just 5psi daily and 8psi at the track(much more than 10psi and they have the tendency to want to spin rod bearing's due to the small journals). I was wondering a few thing though from any one who's had experience with this car before(if anyone on HMT at all??) I've been hearing about the Greddy E-manage Ultimate system which comes complete with everything to tune fuel/ignition curves, the only thing is that it's $550(in my opinion that's a bit high). What would you guy's reccomend? I've got a VAFC from the first gen to tune the fuel curves, but since it's all coil-packs and no Dizzy, other than the e-manage I don't know what to do to tune the Timing? At only a max of 8psi I'd even be willing to attempt a FMU tuned with my wideband?.?. Next, I'm trying to find out if he'll need to upgrade the clutch before we turbo the car and he smoke's the clutch that way. Any other comments or information of the subject would be appreciated. We've already done 2 turbo setups but this is the first time on a Spec-V. I've been researching the motor strength and weakness's and know a good bit. If you've got some good insight then post up, other wise don't bother. As alwayse guy's thanks in advance.

Cliff Note's:
1) how can I tune the ignition? would it be un-advised to use an FMU on only 8psi?

2)would the increase in torque and power smoke the stock clutch?(dyno results show at 5psi on this motor it makes 248whp/280wtq as apposed to stock 145whp/165wtq)

3)what are the injectors size stock?

Thanks guys

wire in the VAFC as well to try to get it in a little better. Assuming a VAFC can be used like a SAFC by not wiring in VTEC?

Considering that power plant is the biggest piece of ---- Nissan ever made, I would just drive it and hope it holds together. That was a major lemon for Nissan.

I have a 00 Sentra SE SR20 and I was gonna boost it too, but then I got to the same point of the engine management and all that and said ---- it. If you can't run uberdata on it, than it's a lost cause. lol

Why do all you say things like "It can't take much more than 5 psi" or "At 10 psi it dynos close to 100hp more than stock!!!!"

You guys need to get psi out of your heads and start thinking psi at which VOLUME is measured, not just "10 psi" and thinking it's going to be the same with every turbo.

10 psi is not the same on a T15 as it is on a T25 as it is on a T28 as it is a T3 as it is on a T4 as it is on a Holset.

I Don't think everyone is going to post full motor and turbo specs just to give people a idea of what a car's possible hp numbers can be.

Obviously if they say 10 psi there not assuming its a t15, and obviously a fully built motor with diffrent compressions will produce more or less hp at a given psi rating.

Rule of thumb for most people that i've talked to is to refer to how much hp a car can handle not what psi it can handle.

Because 10 psi is not the same on every turbo. Read above again.

10 psi is not the same on a small T15 that barely ingests 200CFM as it is not the same on an IHI RHC6 that ingests 550CFM and compresses it at the same 10 psi.
