sealing up v bands
Couple questions. After welded some warping is to be expected. I have a flat bed belt sander which I used on the v bands and flanges. All of the flanges were easy except for the v bands due to being on long pipe and awkward to hold. Is there ways that I can make 100% sure that these will seal up? or should I have them go to a machine shop?
Could I use high temp gasket maker when I slap them together?
When I get them coated should I remove the coating thats on the v band mating surfaces aswell?
Thanks guys.
