Just started on the intake manifold today
The plenum will be done just like the intercooler endtanks with a huge 4.5" 1 d 90 degree bend Throttlebody of choice is accufab 105mm ;) http://jg-fab.com/gallery/main.php?g...serialNumber=2 http://jg-fab.com/gallery/main.php?g...serialNumber=1 http://jg-fab.com/gallery/main.php?g...serialNumber=1 http://jg-fab.com/gallery/main.php?g...serialNumber=2 This intake manifold is tuned to make peak power at 10000rpm on the 2.0 liter engine -James |

Now that is a intake manifold. Keep up the good work. When you are done welding AL tig. Try letting up on the pedal a little slower, it makes the crater a little smaller. I welded AL ---- for 10 hours a day, 6 days a week, for a 1 year. That was 10 years ago, but I remeber that little trick.
Randy PS flanges worked great by the way and thanks for your help on the phone too. |
Re: Official JG-Fab.com s2k Race car build post updated weekly
those crates can only be seen, you can run your finger over and not feel them or anything they arnt really craters just the way the metal solidifed

Re: Official JG-Fab.com s2k Race car build post updated weekly
looks good james, but you should have had your dad make you up a flange for that totally custom touch. ;) the stacks look alot like the full race s2000 im. i would have left the stacks inside the plenum off the floor myself.

I have been waiting a year for him to make me that flange and didnt feel like waiting any longer
He is really backed up with his own work, the production ones will be made with a billet flangej and when he gets aroudn to making them I will make a new one for myself I dont agree with the stack off the floor idea thus I didnt do it, full race didnt use full radius air horns either on theirs just normal velocity stacks (at least from every picture I have seen) -James |

Re: Official JG-Fab.com s2k Race car build post updated weekly
The reason for leaving some room on the floor is to let the air from the bottom of the plenum. How much is unknown without a flow bench, or lots of dyno testing. There is a magical combination but lots of $$$ to find it.

This motor was built by Lotus for Lemans in 2004. We did some work and found a extra 35 horse without the stupid 180 degree crank. 180 degree cranks are nothing more then a cool sounding, shaker. Randy |
