Picking the car up very soon from the paint shop now
He had a couple hot jobs come in and so did I so I just let him postpone it for a few weeks but am supposed to get it friday
For the rear end to fit I am ditching the factory fuel tank and doing a fuel cell (the new rear end is 3" taller and 3" wider also weighs 75 lbs more lol)

Lots of cool stuff coming very soon

R230 Rear end (90-96 tt 300 zx rear end)
It has a 9.05" ring gear in it (supposently as strong as ford 9 " )
3.69 Final drive in it and viscous lsd

I see this as the only down fall to the rear end. I don't know about the 300zx, But every other Viscous LSD I've ever dealt with or know of don't hold too much power as the Viscous Fluids break down.

they've put alot of power through that lsd, but viscous would nt be what i would use, they tend to act like an open diff at times with one wheel spinning more than the other, and btw you can get a 4.10 ring and pinion set for taht lsd, search twinturbo.net, i forgot the compnay that makes them, please excuse my retarded one handed typing

So yah Duy's car (local guy) ran a 8.6 with a 1.39 60foot on drag radials with the 240sx rear end (also a viscus) I am sure if it works just fine there it will work more than fine in mine....

BTW if I ever do run into problems I will get a clutch type but till then I see no reason to

As to the 3.6 gearign being bad I am on a auto tranny and a 28" tall tire revving to 9 k
with 800 whp the car should be trapping 155 mph or so, this gearing will be just about perfect...

Yes it is thin (.065 wall thickness) but we are making a very unique tierod system that will keep this thing together ;)
