Muffler bypass w/valve

Re: Muffler bypass w/valve
I have a question how would you make a Y pipe with a cutout? I know I could buy a premade one but I came up on some 2 3/4" ID 304 16 gauge steel for dirt cheap and wanted to know how I could make my own y pipe. Use a hole saw?? on the straight pipe and then cut at an angle on the second pipe? Suggestions?

Re: Muffler bypass w/valve
Due to space limitations I had to do the Porsche coming straight out from the exhaust pipe at a 90* angle. I was worried that it would even sound good but it does. I should be able to get a video clip of it tomm. and I'll post it.
This cut out is more of a "T" than a Y, lol. Below is a pic of the Y I made for my Q45. This one joins the dual exhaust but it could go either way. I just made the Y piece coming off the side the shape/angle I wanted then I marked where it sat on the straight section and cut it out with a cut off wheel. Mine is far from perfect but it does the job. This Y could easily be used for a cut out/valve. It's made from 2.5" tube.
