if you didnt have the diode the power from the relay would keep charging the cap and it would never shut off

radio shack still carries this ---- even the 555 timer. But I usualy just pick up electronics on the side of the road and desolder everthing. But then my chic calls my a heartless basterd.

I never tested it on the car, crashed the damn thing before I get the chance. It will probally go into the next build. Its pretty dan simple though, all you are doing is sending power to the ecm, ignition, injectors, fuel pump, for a timed period. I have mine built with a 4 pole relay so I can have 4 seperate circuits running through it. I mounted it all in a little plastic box, I stuck a couple of status led's, a dial for the time delay, and a bypass switch.

Yeah, I can make that happen. I believe I ave it written down a work some where so you wont see it until monday. Here are some pics of it and my 14point7 wide band. That is a piezo switch on the top, you turn it on by touch. I have too much free time at work!
