man there's A LOT of interest for this valve... looking forward to seeing the first HMT version.

But how the heck do you keep the exh. gas from leaking where the shaft goes through the flange?

you don't you watch for expansion tolerances. The holes for the shaft are at least 1/2" long so you could put a bushing at outer ends of each hole.

why would you use a bushing? i would be worried about the difference of expanision between the two metals and have one through hole for the shaft and the other just 1/4 of an inch into the other wall thickness and use a mild steel rod with a mild steel flange

I agree. As long as your hole and shaft are pretty true and your clearance is low you should be good.

and its not a big deal on a little leak stock internal WG dont have a seal just close tolerance but then again some one is gonna say its after the turbo but it just dont matter just a little leak wont hurt .. some one make one with a piston ring around it just like the turbine shaft has

Sweet idea, but I wouldn't trust those two little screws/bolts that hold the flapper onto the shaft. If they come loose or break, they will ---- up the turbo.
