divided exhaust housing flapper valve.. quick spool down low, big power up top?

this would be such a good thing for the holset community, with a ton of sales involved..
I've thought about making one myself since I have an actuator and bracket laying around, but with school and work, and no welder, it's just not possible..

so I figured one of you guys might want to jump on it.. the only thing i'm expecting is the 2nd or 3rd one at a really low price.. maybe start a nog discount after that to support the site, and then branch out at full price to the dsm/subby/etc. guys out there..

it's a great concept.. single port open until 5psi or so, then the actuator pulls the lever and port #2 is exposed..

From memory the series 4 RX7 uses this type of setup standard.

Excuse me if im ignorant.. but would this not effectively block off 2 runners on a properly made twin scroll manifold?

yes, but you cant do paired cylinders with a setup like this, everything has to merge to a common collector

The theory on this would be to use a divided exhaust housing, with a standard merge collector

wouldnt this make your exhaust back pressure skyrocket?

Thats what I was thinkin. It would work nicely if the flapper was built into the collector. Like, when it was closed, it would merge all flow to the one side. It could probably even be set to run an actual twin scroll merge collector. I think this is gonna be my next project in my design class. I like the idea.

it opens at a given psi, so lets say 3psi or 4psi.. a honda for instance, isn't going to even make enough horsepower to be affected by the back pressure enough to notice a change.. it's all about increasing spool time on a big turbo

i'm surprised no one here is jumping on this idea.
