Vtec solenoid isn't grounded through a wire, it only has the one (power) wire which I wired to my ecu. I'm throwing no codes, I have VTP disable checked, FTL is not enabled and I am just running the stockGSR bin from uber because I was just trying to test vtec, not using any crazy bins. Still the same problems as before, no vtec, 6500 RPM redline.

u need the ground chief
start from there |
Re: vtec on my B16
Where is this ground?? There is only one wire... Wouldn't it throw a code, the stock p30 was not throwing a vtec solenoid code so I think it is wired correctly.

Re: vtec on my B16
there is the power wire to the solenoid and there is a wire coming back out from the clip that you ground anywhere on a clean spot on the head or wtv

Re: vtec on my B16
No the VTP is the one with the ground. The VTEC solenoid only has one wire.

Re: vtec on my B16
Alright well the p06 wasn't looking for a chip, hence the 6500 DX redline. I shouldve figured that out sooner :S So I soldered J1 a little bit more so then it looked for a chip, put a chip in and now solid cel limp mode. I cleaned up some solder and made sure everything was good and it still doesnt see the chip so, F it. I'm sending it to my friend J-K-tuning and having him fix it for me. Going to run the stock P30 until then, which is fine because my car just sits most weekdays so whatever. Thanks for the help guys.
