Uberdata chipping?

Uberdata chipping?
I have searched around and checked out xenocron's chipping setups and am left with only one question which may or may not have been covered. If i chip my ecu can I use neptune with a basemap and have it tuned by a shop later down the line? Or will i have to buy the neptune rtp board in order to accomplish this? The reason I ask is that alot of tuners around me doing full throttle tunes will not tune software such as chrome, uberdata, etc. Any info is greatly appreciated. And Xenocron im sure you will be of help in this matter.. lol. thanks all

Re: Uberdata chipping?
Wow, that sucks, you have some loser tuners near you. Where are you located? Im sure you are not in texas huh? They don't sound like good tuners if they can't use chrome and such. What are they tuning, carburators? What is your setup? More specs. You may have to tune it yourself and it really isnt as difficult as people think if you have some mechanical abilities and laptop skills. Gotta read your plugs, make some detonation cans "det cans" wide band "innovate with a guage is great" a good safe basemap, and SLOWLY hit boost alittle at a time while you start to lean mixture and advance timing from the safe map. I tune more and more everyday and its been at least 6months on my daily driver. It gets alittle faster and better gas milage but READ YOUR PLUGS, go to radio shack and get one of those light magnifine glasses( its like a hand held microscope) to read the plugs. YOU CAN DO IT!! I don't know much about neptune but i will do some research if you need some help.

Re: Uberdata chipping?
I pmed chris from xenocron and he def helped me out with my problem. So thanks for that man! and yeah all the tuners are brand specific and cost too much with little rep, but im apparently not far from chris at xenocron so ill most likely be going there for a crome tune, (tight budget). I did have a questiong tho, i was looking through the chrome tuning guide and got to wondering, how do you know what afr you should be at at different rpms? i mean seeing as this is the main base for tuning im sure its important to know what to adjust as well as when. And as for my setup when all is said and done it will be somthing like this...
d16z6 stock
dsm 450's
dsm t25 on hf manny
dsm intercooler and bov setup
chrome chipped
manual boost controller
the essentials mainly, looking to get 200-220whp down, range of 9-11 psi, pretty much whatever she'll take lol
anyone have any walkthroughs of crome that xenter around DIY tuning as well as in detail steps of how to go about it? pretty much somthing newb proof. THANKS

Crome works, and it still has its place in the grand scheme of DIY tuning...but when I chip tune, I use only eCtune now...which is the same price, besides the license fee, which is well worth it.

Re: Uberdata chipping?
As for air fuel ratios it really depends if you run an ecu or if you hack it. Just search on here, its probably written 100 times. Me personally cruising down the highway 70mph(throttle slightly open and no load) i am in the low 16.0s at times and in boost i hit right around 11.6 at 7.2psi. I have never hit 9psi yet, i have a 9 psi spring in my evolution waste gate but i think my china man bov is opening up early and i am losing boost. I havent taken the time to figure it out yet. Iknow i have no leaks anywhere in the system. Search it out. Around here (San Antonio Tex) we have some tuners and they will use these programs, but only one out here would i take my car to get tuned. I know Austin and Dallas have some awesome tuners too. Yeah im sure Chris will get you set straight, he helped me through here and my emails. Peace out!

Re: Uberdata chipping?
yeah I'm more than likely going to go the ectunr route then , hey chris when my setup is complete and have you tune her up do you think it'd be possible for you to show me the process you go about when tuning her up? I ask because I'll most likely increase my setup after a while and would like to adjust the tune on my own with a wideband and some data logging . Thanks for the help guys

Re: Uberdata chipping?
sounds great . I hope to have my setup ready to go within a month or so and I'll def be there for a tune ! I'm going to order a chip DIY set from you in about a week as well as basemap. Just curious will the basemap come with Crome or ectune ? Since I'm going with ectune I'm sure that be easier, unless you just switch it to that before the tune ? Thnaks again
