Re: i just got a innovate #3781 xd-16 standalone w/ gauge kit and lc1 for $200

$200 isn't bad, but I still think the lc-1 + o-meter combo from xenocron is better. For a bit more, I got that + 3 sst chips + ssi-4.

The 'manual' is comes with is good, but the pdf on the website/cd-rom is great. The program it comes with is tits too, especially with the SSi-4. I can datalog the afr's on virtually any car with the MAP & rpm inputs on the ssi-4.

i was starting a new thread, but decided i should just merge it with this one, so i got a few questions at the top of the page. i got about 3 grand left and i still need to get my welder, and some tuning stuff, so i am trying to get just the stuff i need.

thanks for the info guys

No one was selling a full XD16 kit w/ LC-1 for less than $200...HA!

I would say that the XD16 is a great wideband for PERMANENT install...but not for tuning multiple cars.

The LM-1 is a better unit for taking from car to car...

In reality you really shouldnt start charging for tuning until you have atleast 10+ cars under your belt. If its your run of the mill set up you will be fine but the big power/injector set ups I would turn down until you have spent time on a dyno. Then inturn go to the track to see how the cars perform. In reality your proably better off parting out cars sadly.

The honda market is very small and poor. I would focus on welding more than ecu's.

I've never used the one you have but the main difference is that the LM-1 has the wideband controller, display, and datalogger all in one portable unit. It's about the size of a big ass gameboy and is great because it's very portable. The unit you have is very nice and will do the job perfectly but is meant for permanent install, it would be more of a pain in the ass to move it from car to car.

keep the advice comming. i dont plan on tunning anyone outside my circles car anytime soon. my first pratice will be on my obd1 ef hatch. its a minin me that i am going turbo. i also got my galant that i am going to start playing with dsmlink on.

i kept wondering what that gameboy thing was. i might have to go ungrade to that kit while i can.

so what about the burner/ostrach thing.

i can only assume because of the gague set up my kit has, its meant to be mounted. unlike the otherone with the square box remote thingie

I use a m-300, its real easy to move, I got a cirarette adapter that I plug in the car i'm in and power it with that, just crack the window for the sensor wire, splice into the ecu signal wire and ur ready to rock. Maybe there are easier units out there, I've never really heard any good feedback on good units for going car-car with.
