safc settings ...
i have the 450's tuned down to what the faq says but the car dies at idle and never did before the injector ... the car will back fire every so often which makes me think its running more rich then lean .. im wonder if its flooding to die at a idle or if the idle adjustment piece under the hood needs adjusted .. also i read somewhere the the dec settings on a safc have to be right other wise it will die at a idle ... what are the correct dec. settings? thanks

I followed the HMT directions to the letter and they worked perfectly. Make sure you have your sensor settings, hi and low throttle point set right.

Re: safc settings ...
i do but that shouldnt have anything to do with the idle .....i think its the dec. that needs to be changed .. also someone on h-t said something about setting it to a 3 cyl instead of 4 ... but that just sounds bad ... i geuss dsm guys do it alll the time though

Re: safc settings ...
also i forgot i posted this in fi so if a mod wants to move it to tunning section thats fine , also this is a safc and we dont have a vtec controller so vtec remains at the stock 5200 rpm engagement point .. we cant set it to 4400 like the faq says

Re: safc settings ...
I have a vafc setup on mine, and at idle you have to jump your settings waaay up in order to get it to idle. Mine sits right around -34 at 1000 rpm, and from everything i've gathered the reason you have to set it so high is due to injector latency at that rpm and how far back it's scaled. Try turning it richer around idle and see if it'll do anything for you.
