safc settings for a d16???
Hey, I have a 95 Civic EX D16Z6 and im putting a T3/T04B turbo on it. Im going to be running 450cc injectors with a 255lph fuel pump and a SAFC II. I was wondering if anyone knows what the SAFC should be set at for that set up? Im kind of confused on how it works and what it should be set at. I did do a search to see if anyone posted it but I didnt find exactly what I was looking for. If anyone has any suggestions let me know. Thanks.

Basically you'll want to start off at around -38% or so and lean out from there depending on how rich your burn is. I say start at -38 because you want to start rich instead of lean. More than likely after tuning it will be at around -42% or so. But start at -38% and work from there.

i dont know for sure if prelude/accord injectors really do flow more fuel, but you might wanna check up on that. if i am wrong, please disregard the above advice. however, if i am right, you will require (maybe alot?) more fuel all the way through the rpms than a civic.

It will be the same.
Flow rate corrections are based on percentages, not actual numbers. And since an AFC uses MAP sensor signal adjustment to scale the fuel and ignition maps, it'll still be using the Prelude's maps. Sooo.. the percent of low difference will still be the same, but the initial values will be different, which in turn makes the end pulse width durations will be different also.

Yes it's pretty easy to get the hang of how it works. Starting with a basepoint like I told him to will be the same for most cars. However just because you have the same setup etc. as him, I wouldn't recommend running his settings after he gets his setup tuned. All engines will be different in that aspect. Yours may require a larger ammount of fuel and more retarding in the timing depending on boost etc. So, start with the same -38% or so, just stay on the rich side, and slowly lean out from there after getting accurate readings from your guages etc.
