And if I try to program the chip after I erase it I get a "Error at 0x000000 Chip=0xFF buffer=0x7E"?

And ****... I changed the offset to 8000 and it works fine, also seems to work fine now if I leave the offset at 0. What's the deal?

Re: Problems with Willem burner
My william burner is pissing me off too. it has been working flawlessly for the last year... and all of a sudden it just says, "write error" everytime i try to burn a chip. i was so ------- frustrated with it i was ready to put it on the concrete and stomp on it continuously. lucky i have a ostrich otherwise i would have been screwed.

SST27SF512. Using the Willem you have to set that offset. They will act like they're burning properly, but will not work once installed in the car.

I believe you and am going to do it, just wondering where you found out you had to do that?
