My william burner is pissing me off too. it has been working flawlessly for the last year... and all of a sudden it just says, "write error" everytime i try to burn a chip. i was so ------- frustrated with it i was ready to put it on the concrete and stomp on it continuously. lucky i have a ostrich otherwise i would have been screwed.

everytime mine gets screwy, i just switch it between PCB3 and Willem, then change the jumpers. always seems to fix it for me

if you leave the offset at 0 it will burn ok, but the chip will not work in your car.

Where did you find that the SST chips require an offset of 8000?
Im using the same SST chips you are

SST27SF512. Using the Willem you have to set that offset. They will act like they're burning properly, but will not work once installed in the car.
