ONLINE TUNING CLASSES

ok.. i live in a small town.. theres 3 or 4 turbo hondas and they all bought there cars like that so i cant learn from anyone..

i am building a low boost hmt setup and id like to learn how to street tune with uberdata or crome..

is there anybody that has time to chat on msn with me to teach me the ways??
..or
are there any online courses offered? like a massive chat session.. pay like 10 bucks and get in on the action and have the money go to HMT or something?? i know id pay some cash to learn how to use one of these programs and make maps and use all the features..

i tried a search, but we all know how that works lol

thanks

TRAVIS.. traviz_12345@hotmail.com :D if you wanna teach me lol

pgfmi.org is the best place to learn besides actually getting out on the road and doing it.

Re: ONLINE TUNING CLASSES

I know that thier isnt anything like this right now. however this sounds like it might be a good idea with the profits going to HMT and the guys running the online training...

Re: ONLINE TUNING CLASSES

I did this a couple of years ago with TurboEdit and would like to do it again with Crome.

The problem is that online meeting or teaching places are expensive and $10 per person probably wouldnt even cover the fees to set something like that up :'(

one little problem with this altough it a awsome idea, most of the jackasses on here that are any good at tuning are way to snobby or think that there ---- dont stink, i too am willing to pay to learn more, i would nominate dave leed for the job he is probbily the best tuner in the nw :6

very true from what my experience. the few people around me that tune good and have a reputation think there god and there time is worth $4564645/hr

sevral times ive wanted to buy equipment instead of pay a tuner but when it all comes down to it, it just seems like to much info and my a.d.d. kicks in and i end up going the easy way

Re: ONLINE TUNING CLASSES

Not all of the Big Dog tuners are snobby on here, you have to realize that they are very busy...people pay them good money to do what they do. And even though you might have the programs, the burners, the kits etc., they're pretty much useless without at least a wideband to go along with it. :-\ The rest of it pretty much boils down to math and trial and error on the street/dyno to see what works.

very true on everything you said, i was just stating the above cause alot of the people on Hmt are just ------ rude, although i have meet some badass people here that are coolcats, ie... BigDaddyVTEC, Big Wheeze, D112crzy, Leed...who has tuned some crazy ass ---- :S, and all the sponsors but they have bus. to worry about as well :6

I agree...definately some rude and sometimes down right obnoxious people on here...but hey, ya take the good with the bad I guess. I've also found over the years it's easier to get answers to questions on HMT if you have a pretty good idea of the work you're doing and what's involved in it. I see alot of either (1) lazy people who don't like to do their own research into their projects, or (2) people who have no clue what the project is in the first place lol.

That's a pretty sweet idea. It'd take a while to make a complete movie, but once done, sell them for $10 a pop or something.

They pretty much have all the same basics...Crome, Uberdata, TE, BRE etc...but a few programs such as Crome definately have some more intensive features to them.

That video also costs $10

Re: ONLINE TUNING CLASSES

$10-20 is def worth the price for a turbo edit DVD. :y

If it happens, I too will buy one...maybe even 2! :o

Chris Harris 01-15-2007 02:01 AM

Re: ONLINE TUNING CLASSES

I wouldnt sell a DVD for less than $50, the amount of time shooting, retakes and editing would be astronomical let alone the actual production/packaging costs and shipping it all over.

I would love to do a 2-3 hour online class for about $30 a head and I will start to look into it. Crome is my main focus as no one is really even developing TurboEdit anymore, but if there was interest I could wing it.

You will see a post in the coming months if I end up doing it...

I might be able to donate the usage of our Microsoft LiveMeeting server(s) ;) Can host up to 50 people or so.

Let me know, prolly best to PM me on the Neptune forum about it or catch me online.

if you could do a really comprehensive video on Crome, as in setting it up, start crank trim, idle, vac tuning, boot tuning, timing, etc. id pay $50 for it. it would be like a cheap version of EFI101, definately worth it!
