Default obdII question - emanage vs uberdata

I would like to use uberdata over emanage for my setup soon, but, i was reading that i may run into some problems with emissions since i have to convert over to obdI in order to use uberdata. (96 civic ex) With emanage tho I wouldnt run into that problem. Is this just something that we just have to deal with when converting over to obdI or is there a semi easy way to get around this? Sorry if i sound really noob asking this. Thanks guys!
