obd0 to obd1 conversion harness excel files
I got a little bored today so I decided to find a bunch of pm6 and p28 pinouts and try to decifer a conversion harness and make it into a nice schematic. Well I think i've got it all done. It's in 3 Excel files, very small in size.
Anyone wanna host it? or check it out for errors? |
Re:obd0 to obd1 conversion harness excel files
I'll host it, how long did it take you? hopefully it's not too big to send to my e-mail turbasco@hotmail.com
|
Re:obd0 to obd1 conversion harness excel files
took me a few hours on and off here @ work. I'm at home now so I'll send it over tomorrow morning. It's just a plain ------ sheet nothing fancy. 3 in total.
1. obd0 pinout + wire colours + wire functions 2. obd1 pinout + wire colours + wire functions 3. obd0 -> obd1 correction sheet. total is less then 200kb. |
Re:obd0 to obd1 conversion harness excel files
because I'm hosting this I think I get to laugh at your canadian spelling of colors, you guys are alot of fun.
have you actually made the harness yet? I have a pm5 ecu that I'm probably going to end up scraping so I can use the connector to make the conversion harness, then hopefully I can get my ecu with the plug still attached. do you know where to get these plugs if you don't have them? |
Re:obd0 to obd1 conversion harness excel files
find a 92-95 ex/si ecu harness w/ 6" of wires. not easy to find i know that.
I haven't tried to make the harness yet but it all matches the one @ PGMFI |

here's the deal:
http://1337s.com/files/br_b16a_swap_wires.jpg the place I'm uploading to doesn't like your excel files, sorry I couldn't host these |
Re:obd0 to obd1 conversion harness excel files
lol i hate the same problem w/ WTDR. That pic is just a reference of how to interrpret the pin #'s.

http://xenocron.dnsalias.com/br_b16a_swap_wires.jpg
http://xenocron.dnsalias.com/obd-0_pinout.xls http://xenocron.dnsalias.com/obd0-obd1_pins.xls http://xenocron.dnsalias.com/obd-1_pinout.xls You have to do some sort of right click save as crap (Stupid MAC server) or try this: http://xenocron.dnsalias.com/obd0obd1.zip |
Re:obd0 to obd1 conversion harness excel files
they want to save as HTML files..
ps the first one br_b16_Swap wires is a JPG file :) n/m u fixed it. EDIT: I find that they save as XLS files when I reload the page. but after the 1st right-click save-as they go back to HTML until i reload. |
Re:obd0 to obd1 conversion harness excel files
If you right click, save as...then change the save as file from HTML to ALL FILES and then add .xls to the end of the filename that works too.
Easiest to just DL the zip file i guess tho |
Re:obd0 to obd1 conversion harness excel files
lol i just made a ZIP and was going to send it, guess not. lol

Re:obd0 to obd1 conversion harness excel files
sweet, I was wondering when I was going to see one of these things in a nice writeup.. I probably won't ever own an OBD0 car again, but nice to know... well maybe another CRX ;)
|
Re:obd0 to obd1 conversion harness excel files
I should add that this has not been tested, all done in theory. but it seems to match a PGMFI board writeup.

well ----, "in theory" communism works.. I think kyle might attempt it; let's make him our ginny pig.

sure, I'll try communism for a while, you guys just have to send me some people to try it with, I have a pretty good sized desert near my house, I'll set up an area to host a community. if I could get an ecu with the plugs and a distributor I'd do it and then test it on my car, any help with that? |
Re:obd0 to obd1 conversion harness excel files
nice job dude.
I have a couple of questions, where can i get the harness pins so i can do that myself? what about the plug itself? those pings are hard to get off a regular oem harness, so i was wondering maybe someone knows where to buy those pins. what about the plugs themselves? people are making those harness and selling them, they have be getting those plugs and pins from somewhere. |
Re:obd0 to obd1 conversion harness excel files
junkyards for the obd-1 ecu plugs w/ 6" of wire. and old obd-0 ecu's. People hack up the ecu and take the female plugs from inside the ecu and you can solder right to little metal pins that come out the back (that normally go onto the PCB of the ecu).

Re:obd0 to obd1 conversion harness excel files
Here is my "Flate Rate OBD0 to OBD1 Conversion" harness.
...I did a COMPLETE OBD0 to OBD1 change over in 2 hours and 17 minutes. From making the harness, to chipping the ECU, hacking the distibutor, installing everything and starting it up. http://index.driftkids.com/Journal//...BD1Harness.jpg ..it's not a big deal. ;) |

Re:obd0 to obd1 conversion harness excel files
It was some website I found on Geocities that is mirrored in the PGMFI Wiki.
Worked perfectly. Started right up. |

Re:obd0 to obd1 conversion harness excel files
The Excel files work fine for me, although I had to load Internet Exploder to download them. Won't work in FireFox. Just click the link for the .zip file, change the extension from .htm to .zip and open it.
|
Re:obd0 to obd1 conversion harness excel files
Man, am I just missing something here? Everytime I click on any of those links, I just get a new Explorer page with a bunch of symbols and letters. You guys make is sound so easy, but are you leaving out some steps that us computer ignorant folks don't know?
|
Re:obd0 to obd1 conversion harness excel files
RIGHT CLICK SAVE AS, Change FILE TYPE to "All Files" replace .html w/ ".zip" , done.

Re:obd0 to obd1 conversion harness excel files
..as I explained in another thread.. all Civic/Integra are compatible.. Prelude/Accord are compatible..
|
Re:obd0 to obd1 conversion harness excel files
Jason, I'm not following you (please excuse the ignorance). Are you saying I should use a OBD1 ECU from an Integra? I've got a P75, but again, the pinout on my PJ0 is different than any OBD0 ECU pinout that I can find, so all the OBD0 to P75 conversion that I've seen don't help me.
|
Re:obd0 to obd1 conversion harness excel files
I used the same link that Jason used a few weeks ago for my new conversion harness. All worked out well. Started right up.

Re:obd0 to obd1 conversion harness excel files
thats great and dandy but you need be specific. >:(
OBd0 PM6. to obd1 P28 ( not p08/P30) since it does not concern Pm5 or the lesser obd0 ecu's you try wire that crap in the hopes of going from DX_TBI-OBD0 to SI or EX_MPFI-obd1. and your screwed.. dx wire are similar only in the 90-91 dx the 88-89 dx wiring is diffrent a little i noticed .... (this why my ---- don't work) depedning on production date. more so diffrence accure in 88 Dx model 4 speeds. has any one wired a 88 DX 4 speed hatchback (not CRX) before? falkhen spits and chews nails |
