Default o2 sensors

Does any one know what the deal is with the two o2 sensors on the first gen b16. They are right next to each other. Does the computer take values from both. It just seems kind of odd. Also I am trying to figure out where to put them, manifold or down pipe or does it matter thanks guys.

Dont know for sure. I think it that the value is actually the difference between the 2 readings.....
