Default moates burn1 setup w/crome. not working

on moates.com it says check and see what com port the burn1 is in, and i cant find where it says this in the device manager... the usb serial device that pops up when its pluged in says there is a problem with the device and reads com 0

when i am in file>settings>realtimeprogramming within crome none of the selectable com ports work. (1-3) they all fail to connect.

when i first plugged in the burner it says i need to download a driver for it but ive never heard this before.

i dont know what im doing wrong .

you need to download and install this http://www.moates.net/zips/ftdi_vcp_win98.zip

that should fix your problem.
