Is it better if the intercooler is bigger then a small one or does it work the same?

 

Bigger is usually better; the only drawback to a bigger intercooler is that you may have increased lag time before the turbo builds boost in your intake manifold. But at least your charge temp will be 324987203947234 times cooler with a nice CCA front mount intercooler than with a ghetto Ford Probe junkyard intercooler.
