In reality, if you know what you are looking for, you 'could' tune your car strictly by reading the plugs.

You can tell whether you need to add or take out timing, and you can actually read what your AFRs are at...again, if you know what you are looking for.

Nothing is as good as a combinaton of the three though, use a Wideband, use a dyno and read the plugs...


I learned the plugs way with all motor cars and nitrous never blew anything up and well it worked for the v8 crowd for what 40+years.
