my ostrich works fine in all the cars i put it in. i run my car off my ostrich so i dont have to switch chips all the time. ill try again wih an obd1 car friday but ill put my ostrich in. still doesnt explain why ecu control isnt working? thanks for the help ill post back when i try it friday.

so for obd0, the ecucontrol plugin works fine...but the standalone ecucontrol (5.8.41 i assume) doesnt work? is that correct.

do your port settings match between the plugin (settings are in TE) and the standalone? they are both based on the same code, so i see no reason why one should work and one shouldn't...

really need to fix this. gotta guy who wonts a crome tune and i cant datalog it. i still dont understand why ecu control will work with the plugin but wont work manually.

freelog kinda worked today sanity check and loop back faild but it loaded something. it would be at 500rpm then 950rpm then 7,050rpm on idle? and only would trace a few squares but nothing else when making pulls?

i also downloaded the new TE 3.1.9 and now my ostrich wont connect? i had to send everything threw tunerpro RT. i wish i could get the datalogging working threw tunerpro then i would be ok.

i really dont understand why the plugin works but nothing else will...its based on the same exact code, so it really doesnt make any sense. have you tried using a different computer?

do you have a modem in your laptop? if so you "should" be able to loop data thru it and recieve values back to the software...see if that works at all. also, on ecucontrol 5.8.41 under help check show debug info, then under the debug tab you can see which sensor is being polled...see if its stuck on one sensor or if its actually looping thru.

your ostrich wont connect with TE 3.1.9? does an error message come up or not? does it work if you go back to 3.1.8?

fyi, i just went out and got the rom off my ecu and loaded it back on and everything worked as it should. so 3.1.9 has "full" ostrich support on my end. this is weird!

i downloaded 3.1.9 and it cannot locate my ostrich? and now it wont datalog threw the ecu control plugin. i uninstalled it and went back to 3.1.7 and 3.1.8 and still doesnt work since i did tha 1 update. sometimes when i open a bin it will give me an error and close itself. but thats only on the lower versions i can only get 3.1.9 to keep the bin up and not close. now the only thing working for me is crome free, tuner pro rt. thats it. my ostrich and ports are fine.

open 3.1.9 and under help, click reset user settings. then try to go back to 3.1.8 or 3.1.7.

how about if you press file>open rom from ostrich with 3.1.9...does it work of not? make sure you have a bin open when you try it...if you dont it wont load the bin to TE (forgot to comment out one line of code!).

also try RTP with 2.5.2 or whatever the older version you got with the installer was.

let me know if any of that stuff worked... try it on another computer, bring a desktop out in the driveway if need be.
