Default fmu'S...the good(if any) and the bad

seeing if anybody could throw me some feed back on y FMU's are so bad.....and if any good sides...got one in my kit bought off a friend and everybody (here and at work... my neighborhood)and there mom are like take that ---- off before you blow your motor....thankz in advance

You have no way of adjusting the amount of fuel that gets dumped in, and your timing still advances as rpm does. Take that ---- off, sell it to some ricer on ebay and chip your ecu, your setup will yeild more power and last longer.

The good:

They can work, if you don't push it too much. And you can find them for pretty cheap.

The bad:

All they do is increase fuel pressure in a ratio with boost pressure. A 12:1 fmu will increase fuel pressure by 12psi for every 1psi of boost. That's it. No adjustment at all. Cartech does make an adjustable fmu, but the adjustment is only static. It offers no tunability for different boost levels or rpm, or throttle positions for that matter.

And most of all, it's SO cheap for Honda guys to just chip their ecu (or get it chipped) and run crome or uberdata. If you don't feel confident doing that, talk to xenocron on here, and you can get a chipped ecu with a basemap for your setup already. It is just a BASEMAP, but it's better than an fmu with no ignition control.
