Default Fields vs. FMU?

I was offered a chance to pick up a fields vtec controler for a decent price. I have a lot of parts for my b18b turbo project but I need fuel management. I was wondering if the fields vtec controler (even though I don't have vtec) would be better than using an FMU.

I still don't have anything to control my ignition so hopefully I won't break anything just by retarding the timming on the distributor.

Default Re:Fields vs. FMU?

I am going to be using my Fields for my set up but I will be using 390cc injectors frome a auto turbo eclipse not 450s like most people with the Apex-i hack. The Fields isnt as versitile as the Apex couse you can only adjust the fuel by 1k rpm increments and the Apex will do every 500RPMs but Im hoping it will work. The reason Im using390cc injectors is couse the Fields will only lean the fuel out 30%.the 450s need to be leaned out about 35-38% by what Ive read here. With the 390s Ill be leanning them out about 25% hopefully that will work!

I would use the FMU as last resort.

Thanks for the reply. Let me know how it works out when you have it all hooked up.
