Re:DIY-wide band kit *pics*
Yep unfortunatly for this cheap kit you need the expensive O2 sensor. :(

Here's what Jurgen wrote to me about scaling the voltages down for use with a cheapy a/f gauge:
The difficulty is due to the fact the response curve is not linear. On the lean side, the curve has a specific slope, and on the rich side of stoichometric, the curve is slightly different. Therefore, if you scale down the voltage, your readings will be slightly off. Additionally, I'm not sure if the standard gauges will have the correct voltage to AFR scale. Personally, I would just use the diy-wb for tuning. Once you have corrected to your desired air/fuel ratio, unplug the setup. Don't see much need for a full-time gauge, unless you are running closed loop. Jurgen |

mother-son-of-a-bitch
I wish it was possible, I just think it'd have been cool. I'm gonna try and do it anyway. My buddy works for some medical company where all he does all day is caliberate guages, maybe he'll be able to help. |
Re:DIY-wide band kit *pics*
use a couple of 10 bar led clusters and have it use that. one for lean and one for rich. then its not so liniar,,

Re:DIY-wide band kit *pics*
the whole reason I want to do it is to make the shitty A/F guage that most people bought first still useful. I need to get the ------- thing before I can start trying though, it's been almost a month since I've paypalled him for it. how long did it take you stan?
BTW, to whoever asked about the bocsh sensor from autozone, this setup runs off a NTK L1H1 sensor, the bosch one will not work. |
Re:DIY-wide band kit *pics*
After he received payment, it took a little over a week to get the kit (plus i'm in Canada).

Is a 1G dsm 02 sensor a wideband or not?
