No there was a short in the wiring somewhere deeper into the harness. I am guessing maybe around some other sensors too cause I later noticed that when I cranked the starter, the speedo would peg at 130+mph.

In the end I couldnt return the new o2 or relay, so that was a good 120-130 bucks down the drain. And then I went ahead and spent the money on an auto adventure replacement wiring harness and swapped it out. problem solved.
