Default broke injector question

i have a 95 civic and i have dsm 450s in it with a safc2. when i go to start it it doesnt start right up then its starts hard like too much fuel and some white smoke comes out the exhaust. at idle it sometimes idles rough too. my mechanic said a injector seal might be leaking and the hard starting could be the injector getting fuel to it. the smoke could be the fuel that dumps out into the engine after the car is off. the car sat all winter so. does anyone think injector cleaner will take care of it or will i need new injectors?

Default Re:broke injector question

The "hard to start" depending on how hard it is, could be attributed to the normal 450cc injector operation. Larger moving mass, takes a bit more effort to open and close. A second or two more cranking is normally associated with the installation of the 450s. As for the puff of smoke when you start. That could definately be the fuel getting dumped in during the cranking, or left in when it is shut off.

Normally a leaking injector seal would also cause a vacuum leak which would also be accompanied with an a higher than normally idle RPM.
