Re:22r engine managment
galadar@worldnet.att.net is running a 730 GM ECM on his 85 Toyota 22R turbo. He's local to me, and a bright guy, although I've never met him.

Re:22r engine managment
do GM ECU's just use the signal from the pickup coil on the distributor as a reference pulse for timing, or do they use more than that? i know the honda ECU's use 3 sensor inputs (crank angle, TDC, and cyl #1 position). how standardized are the signal outputs for those sensors? i know, for instance, the 3S-GTE engines use a crank angle sensor similar to honda, and use 2 other timing sensors as well, but are these sensor outputs capable of running a honda ECU? obviously, if the inputs could be used to run either ECU, you could use the honda ECU with something like uberdata or ghettodyne (whether it was OBDI or OBD0) to run the engine, and leave the toyota ECU in place to take care of things like speedo, tach, power steering, ABS, etc..

Re:22r engine managment
I'm in the middle of fitting a GM ECM to a turbo Justy, but I've been very slack/remiss in my duties. I believe that you can use a simple pick up pop riveted into the dizzy to control the fuel, but you need an accurate crank trigger wheel to run a DIS setup off of.
I'll post more when I know more.
