Mine was all yellow and nasty. 150K on it, I figured its cheap insurance that I don't burn up Xenocron's nice shiny 255 pump.

yeah my set-up is not working that well....at 1/2 tank its in limp mode and running with no gas.....So i think the sock is a def. issue. Currently waiting to see what XENOCRON is going to do to help me out....pump seems good besides this issue. Although this issue is a big issue.

Ok ok sorry for using the term "limp mode" as i put it.....Exactly what i said, is what is going on, and its becuase its not GETTING FUEL from the pump. The sock is half the size of the factory one.. the pump i recieved was like 1-1/2" smaller than the factory one...So thats what im talking about Dmc1

Read the documentation provided by Xenocron. It never says to use the prefilter that comes with it, read the h-t threads on the walbro pumps, and you'll find the SAME issue. If you think the pump was too small, you didn't install the rubber bushing that goes at the bottom, or the white adapter..., or you messed it up somehow.

Basically, take the 15 minutes to pull the pump, install a new fuel strainer/sock, and find a rubber bushing to make the pump fit.

The prefilter/sock that ships with the kit is "universal", and too short. It'll make the car run out of gas early. AutoZone stocks the OE strainer at about $9.
