I cut the holes with a plasma cutter, but make sure you spray the insides with antispatter. Then I smoothed it out with a carbide bit on a die grinder.

Amen to that! even with the antispatter that stuff is hard to get off when it is stainless. I started cutting them on a mill to avoid having to grind that stuff out.

Ted I take it you work/own a machine shop.Must be nice to have access to all that equipment. What do you think about those small mills that cost under $3000?I'm thinking about getting one or possibly a liquid cooled band saw.

No, I wish! It is a friend of mine that had the welding business - it's in an industrial park with a machine shop right next door. We trade favors with shop work and welding. I was getting tired of the endless grinding!

Look around someone will do it for you cheap if you have enough of them done at one time - Pay someone to do i and build it into the price. Don't buy the mill unless you do it with profit from what you make - seriously dude stay small! Too many people go under from growing too fast.

The Band saw is very nice! I let my partner buy it though .
He needed it for lots of other stuff i just used the chopsaw until he got that crazy thing! But with a Bi-metal blade it will cut through anything. If i were going to invest in anything that would be it and you could at least cut the sides of the hole with it.

The Manifolds look Great!

just a suggestion...but if any of you live near an engineering university they generally have a fully equiped machine shop. I was at rutgers the other day they have pretty much everything between the civil and mechanical buildings. Mechanical you can test flow and has the machine shop and civil has the welding stuff......
