Default 1994 hino fb wrecker tow truck

This is my 1994 Hino FB wrecker. the truck has 220k on it and counting. i still use this truck every day. the truck is a turbo 4 cylender. automatic allison transmission which came from the factory with no park. you have to leave the truck in nutral with the parking brake. alot of people are surprised to see this, its common on alot of "big" trucks. this truck had dual tunnel boxes with makes it a long wheel base truck. the longer wheel base help when towing larger vans and trucks. the cab over design helps getting around tight corners, and in and out of city driveways. the trucks is a great city truck, but it isent very powerful. dont expect to have a super recovery vehicle. dont take this truck doen a steep hill in someones backyard, you will be calling someone to winch you out like i did. dont get me wrong, once the truck gets rooling and the turbo kicks in it screems, but from a dead stop its kinda lacking when loaded.

it has a vulcan 810 wrecker bed.the 810 features Vulcans strapless wheellift system along with a single line winch and sling set up. all controls work. the boom and winch levers are a lil sticky from the lack of use, but all work properly. i prob use the sling attachment twice a month on junk cars.the winch has a new 50ft winch cable on it. the bed has a pad lock system that locks the spoons to the bed so they wont get stolen. the bed runs off a pull up style pto switch. everything works, nothing leaks.

the truck is ready to go and work, however does need some MINOR things.the truck will need 2 new rear mudflaps. it needs the dash plate the covers the raido and heat controls. someone stole the raido and destroyed it. its $125 at the dealership. the plastic cover the covers the ignition switch is cracked. its still there, but if your picky, you might want to replace it. since i replaced the ignition switch and the raido got stolen, a few things stopped working, i am working on getting them fixed, but might not be done in time. the raido, power panel that controls the aux lights and light bar, blinkers, and engine cut off switch havent been getting power. its a simple fix, just need some time to go o ver the wires. i know everything works though, just need to be wired up again. the truck as a small tool box on the drivers side rear of the wrecker bed. the rivits on the handle cxame out and the hadle fell off. it have it but it will need to be replace.

front view of the truck

Pros:
very reliable
inexpensive to maintain
long wheel base yet can menuver anywhere
great vulcan wrecker bed
sits high for great 360 visability
dosent guzzle diesel like larger trucks
will do 70 mph on the highway loaded
brand new ingition switch and dooor locks
adjustable in cab idle know
dual tunnes boxeds for carring lots of tool/equiptment
after the other was stolen, got a different jvc cd player

Cons:
no ac
no park (came like this from the factory)
not very powerful (built for economy)
someone stole radio and cracked dash cover ( $125 new from dealership)
cold use a good cleaning
headliner could use some glue
sometimes while light crusing, the truck cant decided to up shif ot down shift and will stubmle until you let go of the gas. i never let this worry me, its a rare occasion. the transmission runs STRONG. it does not slip or grind.

i have been honest with everytihng i know about this truck. i brought i last winter so i can do junk car removal this past summer. now that winter is back i am not working it as much. i am working on getting a flat bed so i need to get rid of this truck. i m selling AS-IS no warrenty or gaurenttes what so ever. i have put over 10k miles on this truck and have had no major problems with it. this truck does not come with any chains or tag lights. the light bar. and winch cable are included.

located in boston ma $6500/bo trades welcome
(selling the truck so i can get another tig welder so i can get into manifolds and tuning. i made over 8k this spring/summer just doing junk cars alone!)

p.s. dont call the number on the side of the truck, it goes to a pre-paid cell phone i am not using. i just put it up there becuase the police makes you have a phone number on it

its straight, i made good money with it. but like a ********, i dident save anything. now i am lookingto get into turing and some light fabercation, so i want to sell the truck so i can use the money for other things

the place i am looking at getting the guy wants $1400 a month rent. its been vacant for 1.5 yearsm but its nice. has a big open down stairts and a big open upstairs. if he take my offer for a 3 yeart lease of $1200/mo , ill make the upstairs an apartment and live there while i work downstairs.

but the money i get from selling the truck i am going to buy a new tig, mig, shop press and big compressor. all that shold be less than 4 grand. but i gotta do someting that will get me a quick turn around so ican afford the rent/utilities
