Default Bastard Porsche

Ok, since my civic was jacked and defiled i am moving on to something else. I have a '74 Porsche 914 sitting in the back, needs some body work, minimal rust, dead engine.

I want to throw in something more modern, water cooled, basically something with more oompf. I believe i need a CW spinning engine, something relatively small (~22 inches in length), cheap, and boost accepting.

4AGZE, SR20, K20 :1?

I got the idea of putting my single cam in there, but it spins the wrong way. So i'm interested in the supercharged mr2 engine, just not sure which direction it spins. I don't want anything too heavy or too big. I would love a subie engine since it would keep the center of gravity relatively low, but i cannot seem to find any decently priced ones with wiring and everything.
