Re: Bastard Porsche
the 3 - 3.2 cars we have had have all eaten synchros, but they have been track / autocross cars.
As for the Audi transmission, I don't know a whole lot about them, are they common?
Lots of guys are boosting LSX's, they aren't a "typical" SBC.
as for the weight, I thought for sure a 911 motor would weigh less. Then after talking with kennedy and finding this I changed my mind...

Porsche's Cylinder barrels and 4 cam heads make them heavy.
Right now my dad has a 997S with AWE headers, Giac, fabspeed intake and a few other things, as well as RS America # 0001.... Not mine, I barely get to drive them..I role in a welfare 00 VW TDI that needs wheel bearings and bushings...for all the haters that wanna yap haha

A fully dressed 2000 LS1 5.7 liter Corvette engine ready to install with the engine computer and
wire harness, complete exhaust system, engine mounting brackets, AC compressor, alternator,
custom water pump adapter, transmission adapter plate and flywheel weighed 434 lbs. This is
a rear engine weight savings of 56 lbs. over the Porsche 3.0 engine.

I recently did a stock rebuild of a 2.0 L TIV engine. Bout $1000 parts. I was lucky to have good heads.
Most are cracked, cracking or inches away.
Heads are the 'weakest link for these engines. Good(new, not 30 y.o.) TIV heads with SSvalves cost 5x($1500) what the T1 costs.
Conversly, the lower ends can take a real 'lickin
