Default whining from timing belt....?

So i checked and made sure it wasn't the a/c or alternator belts, so that leaves the t belt. Its a whining sound that gets louder/higher pitched with rpms. The previous owner said the t belt was recently changed, and its not loose, so that leads me to suspect that the bearings are worn out on one of the idlers or tensioners or whatever other magic happens in that area of the engine. My main question: (this is on a d15 btw) How much should I worry about this if I'm doing an engine swap in a couple weeks? My main issue is that i'm doing a trip to NYC with my girlfriend leaving this sunday, so I have a good 600 mile round trip at least, maybe more. I'm gonna check for loose bolts tomorrow morning. Any ideas on what it might actually be? I just need this thing to last for this trip basically, and then I don't care if the t-belt flies off and sends valves shooting out and killing innocent bystanders, because ls/vtec here I come.

my brother is driving his GSR motor for a couple of thousand miles with a tight belt now. no problems so far. Sounds like supercharger, right?

Just try loosening the tensioner. It will take 5 minutes. Other than that change the tensioner and check to see if you are damaging the cam journals.

mine did that when I did my last swap.. apparently my timing belt tensioner was putting too much tension on my waterpump.. loosen it and you'll be fine
