ok well i repainted my car and in the process i removed the engine...after starting about a year ago i finally got it running smooth its not boosted the engine is a d16z6 but after i start it the engine runs at about 800rpm when its warm...right when i start the car the idle bounces a lil for a min then smooths out but when i give it gas the speedo says im going somewhere...the tranny has no axles in it maybe that could be the problem but i was thinking of maybe a bad ground...i check all the vac lines to see if maybe thats why the idle bounced when i started it but their all in the right spot..

 

put some axles in it and try again.. the open differential might be affecting the spedo... But yea, worying about a spedo not working before you try and dirve the car is lame... Get in it, drive it, then see what problems you got...

 

ya thats what i was thhinking but i dont want any little glitches when i get it on the road id rather just have it perfect right when i drive it...what about my idle?

well turbo cars are almost never perfect, i know your not boosted but get used to ---- being wrong...

your weird idle at start could be iacv going bad... or being dirty, pull it off and hit it with some carb cleaner... mine did weird ---- for a while, i aventually just put a block off plate eliminating it.. and used the purge selonoide to let extra air in when i was cold starting.....

 

ya im used to things never being perfect but everything can be fixed...ya i was thinking the iacv may have been going bad..i clean it and if that dont work i'll snag anotherone and see if that fixes the problem

 

 

usually they dont need replacing they just need cleaning
