Default vtec not hitting

ok so heres the deal i have a 91 crx hf with a 2gen b16a in it and i had a check engine light on for along time and i just got it off teh other day i wired vtec up all the way and the knock sensor but for some reson vtec wont hit i have the pw0 jdm b16 ecu and it still wont hit we treind everything and it wont hit but someone told me the speedo cable has to be hooked up but the speedo wont fit in the hole any sugestions

with crome you can turn off the vtec speed sensor, not sure about the obd-0 programs?

hhmmm i dont think i have that on my car but im not sure i think im going to look into buying crome for my car thanks for the advise.

Make sure you have enough oil.

ok im sure im alittle low but does it matter that much...i do have a small oil leak thats true thought its the only thing left to check thanks...

ck. your oil level, i had a friend, with the same problem, i took the car out for a spin, went around a left turn hard as ----, what do you vtec kicked in, went to the gas station, ck.ed the oil level, did not evan read on the dip stick, added a quart, drove car back to his house and did an oil change, run perfect now.

Ya, if your speedo isn't hooked up, that could be it. I don't know if OBD0 have the <20mph sppedo check or not, but could be that.

well the thing is is my speedo cable doesnt fit into the hole in goes in but not all the way no matter how hard i push plus theres 2 extra hoses that run off of it to i dont know were those go any suggestions..

You have to line up the slot with the notch on the cable. :1

no speed pickup on PR3/PW0 = no stunna tech.

If you have access to a chip burner, dowload BRE from http://forum.pgmfi.org/viewtopic.php?t=8987
You may have to register to view.

Disable the VSS check in BRE and burn a new chip.
