Thrust bearing question
I just finished a complete rebuild of my D16A6, Once I got it running I sent it to my garage to set the timing. after they did that it developed a loud clatter nock. They mentioned that the crank pulley had to come off, could they have caused the thrust bering to have shifted by over torking the crank pulley with the impack gun?

I would put the pulley back on and check crankshaft end play. Crankwalk is kind of a unique noise and can vary from car to car, and it also depends on how much play there is. Sometimes it can be so bad the pressure plate can make contact with the bell housing. But overtorquing a crank pulley bolt wouldnt cause this. It's very uncommon on hondas and the only time I have ever seen it is because the thrust bearings were installed backwards.
