Default White and black smoke

Ok I just changed my head gasket because my radiator was pressurising and I had a cloud of white smoke like the Gadget mobile. After changing it my car runs 10 times better but I still get some white smoke when driving and when I punch it I get black mixed with white. Any ideas? thanks

are you using OEM headgaskets? The aftermarket ones may be off a bit and water may still be going through it. I usually just use an extra layer of high temp liquid gasket and put the aftermarket gasket on. I never had a problem. Or maybe its just excess water. Drive it for a while and see if the white smoke goes away?

black smoke means your ringlands are going.

No, bluish smoke means rings or ringlands from oil shooting past. Black smoke is usually from too much fuel. Did you check to see if maybe you cracked a sleeve? A small crack in the sleeve will still leak coolant into the cylinder(or cylinders) when the cooling system pressurizes. Could have also warped your head if the motor overheated and the head gasket isn't sealing properly.

I've honestly never had any problems with aftermarket HG's, especially the fel-pro models. Muti-layer-steel ftw

I just changed the headgasket about 300 miles ago. I did notice that after a couple hard pulls the smoke goes away for about an hour or so until I let the car sit. The sleeves looked ok when we took the hood off but I'm no expert.

my guess, head isn't perfectlyu flat, you do a few hard puills, and the heat at the top of the block causes everthing to expand (head and gasket), and the smoke goes away. Then when it cools, it contracts and you get smoke.
