i got a 2001 5 spd Ford Focus, for all thos who dont know it has a 2.0L dohc engine, well i decided i wanted a little more power and i was bored of nitrous, so i picked up a turbo from a friend, it from a volvo 850 its a TD04Hl-15G it a pretty large turbo so im worried about lag but besides that its in pretty good condition. so my frist newb question is which side dose the oil feed go into. i got some pictures to help out is it the fitting with the two bolt wholes or is it the other side.

And no, your 15G is not large enough for your engine, it's a girly man------ turbo. Get a T3 at least, ----.

lol, yeah get a bigger one they're not that much. oh usually the oil feed comes in from the top.

in that picture your looking at the oil return.

and that turbo will work fine on the focus, its not that big at all, in fact it will spool pretty damn fast. I think the hard part will be trying to find flanges for that turbo. I betcha a t3 flange will be pretty close to that inlet pattern.

 

hey thnx for the help with the oil lines, i got one more question, this turbo has a air bypass valve, should i consider using it or is there no performance different when not using it.

it comes with interlan WG and bov - cost vise solution, if you won't adjust a WG actuator (increase boost) bov should be just fine for you I guess

 

the bypass valve isnt a like a regular bov, im am getting a bov anyways, this bypas valve is a system to help turbo lag, whent here is vacum in the the engine, the valve opens and dosent create any pressure so the turbo is spinning and not creating pressure, as soon as the turbo spins fast enought to reach ambient pressure, the valve shuts slamming air into the engine. the only problem is, is it effective, is it worth the trouble of welding and extra nipple
