What's that sensor called and what color wire goes on the bottom?

 

coolent sensor to turn your radiator fan on. if its a 88-91. doesnt matter which one goes on bottom.

 

Ok, thanks. i took an educated guess by how the wires where sitting on the harness.

X2, Whatever it is its not a honda.

hondas have the oil pressure sensor on the back of the block above the oil filter, and the coolant sensor on the side under the distributor.

 

there;s one on the back too (green plug), its a rad fan switch based on temperature (i've read based on OIL temp, not coolant, but that could be just B series motors.).

the one under the dist is for the guage cluster.

 

He's either dealing with an 85-91 Civic Si/CRX Si/Integra. The largish two prong sensor that takes the two bullet connectors inder the rubber boot is the fan thermo switch. This is shrunk to a small 2 pin plug located on the thermostat housing for OBD1+ vehicles.

Or else he's dealing with 90-91 LS, which has three sensors next to the oil filter: oil press switch, aforementioned large prong thermo fan switch, and another oil pressure sensor used to determine approx engine rpms and load based on oil pressure for use with modulating PS system pressure + raising idle rpms (hijacks ELD input and maxing it) so that the engine doesn't stall when using PS at idle.

 

So it couldn't be a Chevy or a Ford or a Mitsubishi or a Nissan??

It's called rocket science.

He's a couple hundred posts into his HMT membership, so even if he was dumb as a box of rocks he'd realize this is primarily a Honduh oriented site. A perusal of his last ten posts reveal he owns a CRX HF, and probably a CRX DX to boot.

Yes, because you ASSumed he was talking about a Honduh, and no this is not a Honduh site, no matter how many people here own them. He might own a Honduh, but was asking about a Chevy Venture minivan. His original post left everybody in the dark, but luckily Joseph is a rocket scientist. :P
