What are my options for timing retard with a distributor ignition system? Most guys throwing turbos on my car (Ford ZX2)are running MSD DIS-2s. Would a regular MSD BTM or an A'PEXi ITC work with the DIS?

Just looking for answers, shed any light you can.

I really don't know to much about the DIS system. Everyone on almost alot of piggy back set-up cars I've seen are running the MSD BTM or Vortech BTM.

Uhm, I'm not totally sure about your timing Q, I'd be happy to ask some Ford guys I know... but... one Q... WTF did you mount/are you mounting your turbo? Above the transmission? There is literally no other place for it from what I've seen.

 

Yes, space is a little tight. There have been a couple guys successfully moving the fan and mounting small turbos off of the stock manifold. Another guy made a focus turbo mani work.

I plan on mounting it, just like you said, over the tranny. I'll be relocating the battery to the trunk. This gives me tons of room, but the exhaust routing will not be ideal. I don't plan on running more than 6psi until someone figures out how to beef up the weak-*** ZX2/Mazda tranny.
