Default Anyone ever used SYNCROMESH??

Hey has anyone used penzoil syncromesh I heard it works real good for helping bad syncros in hondas? But how much shoud i use? 1 quart with the rest regular oil? Or should i fill the whole thing with it or what??

Right now i have full synthetic 10w30 with about a 1/2 quart of lucas transmission fix.

Im going to try this im my transmission for now until i can rebuild it.

... you have 10w30 in your tranny?!?

I use syncromesh, works wonders. I didn't have any big problems with my tranny, but it sure felt a lot better after I made the switch.

I've never heard of this stuff but I think I may go get some, since my tranny is out right now anyways. When it goes back in maybe 3rd won't be so bad.

all the hype was about the GM Syncromesh FRICTION MODIFIED that you can only find at GM dealers. The Penzoil is the same stuff as the GM Syncromesh, and can be found at auto zone, etc..

I had a grind (high rpms shifting fast) going into second and thought for sure that this would fix it. I bought 2-3 bottles of it and it helped a lot in the beginning, but it's kind of wearing off. I hear that you're supposed to change it every 9k miles or so. Maybe I did something wrong, like not draining my old tranny fluid long enough, but I surely thought it would take that grind away.

Basically, it helped my grind a LITTLE, but not worth the money. I still have one extra bottle that i'll sell you for cheap :P

I have GM syncromesh but NOT the friction modified crap. It does work and work well. I had a pos tranny that had severe grindage in 2-4th. Redline mtfl didnt do ----, honda MTF didnt do ---- but the GM ---- worked. I used it in my rebuilt tranny too and still have it in there 15k miles later.

No I had to get it from the dealer. I bought 3 bottles at my so-called discounted price of $14/bottle. Only used just shy of 2 to fill it.
