my 2nd gear still grinds at thigh Rpms from 1st to 2nd. however it does sift alot smoother.

Yeah it works, GM syncromesh, my transmission stopped grinding till recently. So it extended the life of my tranny for an additional 9months make that 12month when I have time to change it out. My tranny has over 400k on it and there was a huge difference before and after syncromesh but the tranny is starting to not sync between quicker gear changes and is starting to whine again. I have an extra tranny ready to go in, a y8, just gotta wait till December when college is out and I have time to work on it.

i use the penzoil synchro-mesh. at first it didnt feel any different, but after a while the shifts felt much smoother. prior to that i was using honda mtf.
