It shouldn't be that hard, you have a lot of room to work with. I've boosted my 4a-fe, if that helps any. You would probably want a custom manifold, larger turbo (since the engine's a 2.0), and either an AFC or FMU for fuel enrichment.

Rolla, what do you know about toyotas and ignition timeing? like how is it based, on MAPvsRPM signal? or what? ive got the 96 tercel im putting the custom kit together for. i want to run the AFC hack, but i dont wanna advance the timing. its dizzyless, so i cant compensate for it easily. i have a MSD DIS2 that will do ignition retard, but i can only begin retarding at 4000rpm, and im planning on boosting way before that with my DSMT25...anybody got any thoughts? ive already got the AFC and the DSM450s, also. not a lot left to the kit - downpipe and charge pipes and oil lines and i will be there. Thanks

I don't know much about the ignition timing, on my car all I did, even with the FMU, was back it up about 5 degrees, and ran colder plugs, just to be safe. If youre using the AFC hack, you could make it safer before 4,000 rpm's by adding fuel, but that's all I can think of. You could also get a MSD BTM (boost timing master), and that could take care of your timing issues.

its dizzyless...no distributer...sorry. the btm wont work. the dis2 only lets you retard after 4K rpm, i may have to sell the dis2 and get the programmable dis2, but its even more money, and i dont have a laptop to program it. i dont even know if the hack will work on a toyota? why wouldnt it?

yo guido_kp, i'm glad to see someone else boostin' a tercel! I'm stuck with the shitty 3e due to lack of fundage though... how much boost are you planning on running? I'm hoping for 6-7 with an fmu.

low boost for the time being, 6psi is good for me. something to give it that edge in traffic, not a whole lot of racing going on here in backwoods, oklahoma.

What's the water temp sensor hack? I'm curious. Are you talking about telling the engine that it's colder than it is, in order to make it run richer?
