Im running 8 psi with vafc and its great, i want to run 12psi, i have a 8.5:1 pistons and all the stuff necessary(450 cc inyectors, 255lph ex-fuel pump,etc.) but do i need a better engine management for 12psi? my car is a z6 block with y8 head obd1 p28 ecu. what you recomend to me. thanks.

 

some say it's better to max out your map sensor when you're running the hack.
I say, you've got a p28 already, so find someone local to chip and tune it. the driveability, reliability, and peace of mind are worth it.

 

You timing will still be advanced...

I would recommend Uberdata or Crome of course though for higher boost like that though.

 

yes, it will still be advanced, but not as dramatically as on lower boost.. j davis figured it out, I'm not going to think=)

 

yes, but you still have to go through 6 psi to get to 12...and once you are at 12psi, the ECU still only thinks its at 10.5, so really after 10.5psi, you are just as advanced...

the hack, like many other advancements was very useful in its day...but that has long since passed IMHO
